{"id":6206,"date":"2012-09-20T15:40:41","date_gmt":"2012-09-20T14:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pinkoddy.wordpress.com\/?p=6206"},"modified":"2023-11-03T11:40:46","modified_gmt":"2023-11-03T10:40:46","slug":"halloween-spider-craft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/54.155.211.39\/blog\/2012\/09\/20\/halloween-spider-craft\/","title":{"rendered":"Spider and Web Kids Craft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If you&#8217;ve been following our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/creative\/letter-learning-journey\/\">Letter Learning Journey<\/a><\/strong> you will know that we have come to the<strong>&nbsp;Letter S.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I am very lucky that in my area there are courses put on for adults for free.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/spider.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"spider @pinkoddy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/spider.jpg?resize=300%2C224\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Currently there is a <strong>Halloween Craft<\/strong> one and this is where this idea comes from &#8211; you can visit the tutor (Amanda)&#8217;s webpage <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amandaeady.com\/\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/collect_sticks.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"collect_sticks\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/collect_sticks.jpg?resize=300%2C277\" width=\"300\" height=\"277\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">First we went into the garden to find some<strong> sticks<\/strong> to make the web<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/spider_web_materials.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"spider_web_materials\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/spider_web_materials.jpg?resize=300%2C234\" width=\"300\" height=\"234\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We put some newspaper on the table and then got together or the equipment we needed to make a<strong> spider and web.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">sticks<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">wire<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">pliers and cutters<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">scissors<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">wool (and we used string)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">pipe cleaners<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">googly eyes<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">glue<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">gems<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">glitter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/cross_sticks.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"cross_sticks\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/cross_sticks.jpg?resize=224%2C300\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">First we crossed over two<strong> sticks<\/strong>. We secured them together with the wire. Then we added on another stick and secured this in the middle too. Then another.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/make_web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"make_web\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/make_web.jpg?resize=221%2C300\" width=\"221\" height=\"300\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Once all the sticks were secured in the centre we spun the web going around the sticks, pulling it tight with the pliers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We also threaded some <strong>sparkly gems<\/strong> onto the wire as we went around &#8211; this is optional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/lazy_pompom.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"lazy_pompom\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/lazy_pompom.jpg?resize=187%2C300\" width=\"187\" height=\"300\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We left some of the wire to secure a<strong> spider<\/strong> which we made by making a <strong>lazy pompom.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Simply <strong>spin<\/strong> the wool around your hand (here we used<strong> Green for Ghouls<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/spider_pompom.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"spider_pompom\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/spider_pompom.gif?resize=218%2C300\" width=\"218\" height=\"300\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then simple tie the two ends together and squash it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/ghost_spider.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ghost_spider\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/ghost_spider.jpg?resize=300%2C224\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;Fastening the legs (from pipe cleaners &#8211; making sure it makes 8 legs) over the top.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/ghoul_spider.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ghoul_spider\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/ghoul_spider.jpg?resize=300%2C224\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then sticking on some googly eyes<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/scary_spider.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ghoul spider @pinkoddy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/scary_spider.jpg?resize=296%2C300\" width=\"296\" height=\"300\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This Ghoul was made by my 3 year old so didn&#8217;t have a web &#8211; the one on the web you secure together with the leftover wire from the web so it hangs off the web.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/glitter_web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"glitter_web\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/glitter_web.jpg?resize=224%2C300\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Some sparkly glitter onto the branches<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/ghost_spider_web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ghost_spider_web\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/ghost_spider_web.jpg?resize=300%2C242\" width=\"300\" height=\"242\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And viola.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This is a<strong> white spider because it&#8217;s a Ghost.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This is not a sponsored post.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;ve been following our Letter Learning Journey you will know that we have come to the&nbsp;Letter S.
