Well it’s getting closer and looks like we are finally buying our first house and moving! (So please feel free to help promote my poor blog and posts whilst I’m too busy lol – and thank you).<\/p>\n

We have moved a lot before but this is the first time it will be ours.<\/p>\n

What I find helps with moving is to write down a list of all the people you need to tell that you are moving house. But not just a list – put down their phone numbers and any account numbers\/references you need too. That way you can pack all the other paperwork and just have one simple list to go down and tick off.<\/p>\n

Also think about whether there’s any you can do online – and maybe put a * by them.<\/p>\n

NOTE this is not my list but a general list.<\/p>\n

Financial<\/strong><\/p>\n

Banks<\/em> – don’t forget any accounts you’ve had since you were a child, as well as children’s accounts and of course your current account.<\/p>\n

Credit cards<\/em> – again make sure that you don’t have any still registered to you that you no longer use (you can check your file if you are unsure about this).<\/p>\n

Inland Revenue<\/em> – For all things tax – child tax credits, working tax credits, national insurance<\/p>\n

Benefits<\/em> – child benefit, housing, council tax, disability living allowance, carer’s allowance, income support and so on.<\/p>\n

Insurances<\/em> – car, buildings and contents, holiday, life, sickness, etc.<\/p>\n

Catalogues<\/em><\/p>\n

Charities<\/em>\u00a0– family fund, merlin’s magic wand, etc.<\/p>\n

Pensions<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Car loans,<\/em> or other loans and credits.<\/p>\n

Student loans<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Child Trust Funds.<\/em><\/p>\n

Council tax<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Rental agencies.<\/em><\/p>\n

Employers<\/p>\n

Ebay<\/em><\/p>\n

Paypal<\/em><\/p>\n

Utilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gas<\/p>\n
