These yummy Owl Biscuit Bags were made as a Thank you<\/strong> and Goodbye Present<\/strong> for the Staff at Playgroup but am sure could be adapted for many an occasion.<\/p>\n

This also coincided with our Letter Learning Journey<\/em><\/a> – and covered N, O & P <\/strong>(numbers, owl and present).<\/p>\n

For the biscuits we used the same recipe as for the face biscuits<\/a> but substituted some of the flour for hot chocolate powder.<\/p>\n

We talked a lot about numbers<\/strong> – counting, more than, greater than, less than<\/em> – especially when weighing and measuring.<\/p>\n

We did try to roll the mixture but it was rather sticky so flattened it down with our (freshly washed) hands.<\/p>\n

We decided to use no.1 cutters from Jamie Oliver<\/a> (this is not a sponsored post) <\/strong>to represent that they were no.1 teachers – the best. We also discussed this as really he wanted to give them no.2s!<\/p>\n

I saw similar ideas here<\/a> and here<\/a> on Pinterest that inspired me for the bags.<\/p>\n

\"Follow<\/a><\/p>\n

We took a small food bag and sellotaped some white paper onto it (which also covers the writing on the bags) either side. On one side we wrote a message to the receiver.<\/p>\n

I cut out the shape of an owl head from some brown paper (like that you may use to send off your parcels).<\/p>\n

Out of some off white paper I then cut out 2 large eyes and he glued them on.<\/p>\n

Then slightly smaller circles in white paper.<\/p>\n

We had some black painted small circles from when we made bugs<\/p>\n

Then just a triangle for a beak out of orange paper.<\/p>\n

We wrote the message:<\/p>\n

“Ow’ll miss you. It’s been a Hoot!<\/strong><\/em>!”<\/p>\n

Then out of more brown paper we added some wings.<\/p>\n
