{"id":4484,"date":"2012-04-19T10:14:17","date_gmt":"2012-04-19T09:14:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pinkoddy.wordpress.com\/?p=4484"},"modified":"2024-03-26T21:27:06","modified_gmt":"2024-03-26T20:27:06","slug":"fun-with-f","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/54.155.211.39\/blog\/2012\/04\/19\/fun-with-f\/","title":{"rendered":"Fun with F"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I have been teaching my 4 year old the alphabet before he starts <a href=\"https:\/\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/547-2\/choosing-a-school\/\">school<\/a> in September (we find out which school he&#8217;s been allocated tomorrow!!!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>F was definitely for FUN, and we certainly had fun whilst discovering about it!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/flower.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/flower.gif?w=1200\" alt=\"flower\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I started with my youngest simply glueing some flower shapes to a piece of paper. I have a box (an old plastic tub &#8211; either butter ice-cream, chocolates etc) filled with paper flower shapes &#8211; they come in useful so many times a year (Mothers&#8217; Day, Spring, Easter, Get Well, etc, etc).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">For my 4 year old I cut out a letter F and made some leaves out of green paper and glued it together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">You can find many ideas like this over on Pinterest.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/pinkoddballs\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/passets-cdn.pinterest.com\/images\/follow-on-pinterest-button.png?w=1200\" alt=\"Follow Me on Pinterest\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Next we thought about things that began with the letter F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">My 4 year old told me that FROG started with F, that he had learnt it at playgroup and told me all about how a Frog developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">He then told me that Farm started with F &#8211; and we had been to one last week.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/animals.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/animals-300x259.gif?resize=300%2C259\" alt=\"animals\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">On the walk to playgroup we saw what else we could spot. We had a snack when we got back home and that also triggered some F words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>How many can you spot?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/lookingforf.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/lookingforf.gif?w=1200\" alt=\"lookingforf\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Then the real FUN began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em><strong>Because F is for FEET and FINGERS<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">and that could only mean one thing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>PAINT<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/fingerprints.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/fingerprints.gif?w=1200\" alt=\"fingerprints\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">He is currently really interested in mixing colours and seeing what happens. We had just used red and yellow and he mixed them up until he made brown.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/paintf.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/paintf.gif?w=1200\" alt=\"paintf\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">As you can see even I joined in! It had started raining so we did it in the kitchen. Careful as we discovered that paint it VERY slippy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">We put the paint in old food containers that we had washed up. Recycled newspaper protected the floor.
