It was my 200<sup>th<\/sup> (and 25<sup>th<\/sup> Volunteer); one son\u2019s quarter Cowell Tourist destination and our youngest\u2019s birthday. My husband dealt with it but said that it wasn\u2019t possible to pay with Apple\/Google Pay where we originally parked.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can get there by bus, and the nearest train station (Yatton) is 5 miles away.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The event starts at the skate park the briefing is at the tennis courts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Facilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Public toilets are available between the bandstand and the marine lake for 20p. Thank you ever so much to the kind lady who gave our teen the money he needed &#8211; I was already in the <a href=\"https:\/\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/blog\/2021\/09\/22\/what-you-need-to-know-about-clevedon-marine-lake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Marine Lake<\/a> by this point!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A good children\u2019s play park is adjacent to the Salthouse Park. There are many cafes and catering vans along the seafront.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Description of Clevedon Salthouse Fields parkrun<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A three lap route along the edge of the Salthouse Fields Park and along the seafront. All three laps are roughly the same. They go out towards the pier and back and then alongside the iconic marine lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the tide is too high to use the lake path, the upper promenade path is used instead. The paths are all tarmac. The route is virtually flat except for short slopes going up\/down to the prom and also up\/down to the marine lake. The route takes in views of the Severn estuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Pacer week at Clevedon Salthouse Fields parkrun #parkrun #parkrunTourism #Clevedonparkrun\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qiVnpJn-MQc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event as they are not allowed at the marine lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Experience at Clevedon Salthouse Fields parkrun<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It was an absolute stunner of a day. Being right by the sea and lake I thought it would be cold. How wrong was I! Literally the Marine Lake is right next to it and I didn\u2019t even change into my costume before getting in for a cool down!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is clear that the Core Team have put a lot of time and effort into this parkrun. With lots of clear signs for just about everything!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/laps-1-768x1024.jpg?resize=768%2C1024&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Clevedon Salthouse Fields parkrun is 3 laps on path but no dogs\" class=\"wp-image-32756\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/54.155.211.39\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/laps-1.jpg?resize=768%2C1024 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/54.155.211.39\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/laps-1.jpg?resize=225%2C300 225w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/54.155.211.39\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/laps-1.jpg?w=800 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Although initially it felt like it could be really busy I was able to <a href=\"https:\/\/pinkoddy.co.uk\/blog\/2022\/10\/28\/jeffing-alerts-on-an-apple-watch-with-maps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Jeff<\/a> (a run\/walk technique) and everyone was friendly enough with me. I note that they also have pacers ranging from 20-60 minutes to try and be as inclusive as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some Clevedon Salthouse Fields Stats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There were 399 participants today. Well done to the 91 who achieved a Clevedon Salthouse Fields PB today. Special mention to the first finisher Craig ALLAN who was one of those people today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>242 people got a sub 30. By event 158 the average time was 29:24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clevedon Salthouse Fields welcomed 16 people to parkrun for their very first time: Michael NICKELLS, Alex MCDOWALL, Josh LEE, William JOHNSON-PYATT, Dillan FAULKNER, Monty FAULKNER, Jack CHEVIN, George WILLIAMS, Marcus PLAW, Katie FISHER, Thomas HEYSHAM, Chantal DENNIS-SOTO, Emma GREW, Chiara TAYLOR, Kieren MEDCRAFT and Anastacia MEDCRAFT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were 69 people visiting Clevedon Salthouse Fields parkrun for the first time. These people could have also got an overall parkrun PB &#8211; including our son who finished in 20 minutes thanks to Steve Wood pacing for the first time.
