La Croix du Vieux Pont is situated in the North of France in Berny-Rivi\u00e8re, Paris. It is a great location for visiting Paris including Disneyland<\/a> and Parc Ast\u00e9rix, as well as being a great break point if travelling further afield. The nearest airport is Paris Charles de Gaulle, which is 75km, but the site is easily accessible by car (see things to know about Driving in France<\/a> and Road Trips to Europe: Things to Consider<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family Entertainment at La Croix du Vieux Pont<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

La Croix du Vieux Pont has so much family entertainment on-site that you\nwont actually need to leave the campsite – with a variety of family friendly\npools (with lazy river, slides and an area for younger children) and a beach\narea; kids club (our boys got to try zorbing included in the price of the\nholiday with Eurocamp), play areas, a multi-sports pitch; table-tennis; as well\nas things with an additional cost such as the pedalos and trampolining)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sun \u00a315 Holiday at La Croix du Vieux Pont Cost 2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We visited La Croix du Vieux Pont for a Sun \u00a315 Holiday visiting Friday to Monday at the end of June into July. Based on 5 people we paid a total price of \u00a3100.30<\/strong>. That is \u00a375 (\u00a315.00 per person) plus the \u00a32.80 booking fee; then a \u00a37.50 per night service fee (\u00a322.50) and FREE entertainment. I usually pay the \u00a315 Equipment Damage waiver but instead opted for the \u00a3100 deposit (refundable if no equipment is damaged) but didn\u2019t actually get asked for it. I also usually pay the insurance (\u00a38.50 a trip I believe), but as we took 3 Sun Holidays at once it was cheaper to buy it separately for our trip. This was the same with the Ferry<\/a> – it is cheaper to book through the Sun Holidays but check if your vehicle isn\u2019t just a standard car (for example if you have a top box) – we couldn\u2019t because of the length of our holiday. The Eurotunnel is faster but more expensive than a Ferry, which is also gives the driver more of a break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a three bedroom caravan with a living room in the middle.There was a toilet in one room and a bath with sink in a separate room on the opposite side of the caravan. It had it’s own garden – which offered lots of privacy – and was really close to all the facilities. We had opted to bring our own linen and so just pillows, quilts (with no covers) and blankets were provided (our bed at home takes a king size sheet so this is what we brought with us but someone said that their normal sized double quilt was too small for the double bed in the main room. Things provided include a hair dryer, fan, plates\/cups\/bowls\/cutlery etc., kettle that goes on the gas hob, knives\/bottle open\/corkscrew\/peeler\/can opener\/; spatula, ladle, whisk wooden spoon, scissors, grater, chopping board, pans, sieve, roasting tin, microwave, and good size fridge freezer (although the freezer part was small).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things we\ndiscovered about La Croix du Vieux Pont<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Firstly we visited La Croix du Vieux Pont on a budget so it was good to\ndiscover that there was a Intermache (supermarket) around half a mile walk down\nthe road (this is a pleasant walk and even some ponies on the way). Of course\nthere is always the on-site shop too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secondly the swimming facilities are great. We were a bit worried if the\nmales could wear their swimming trunks because they are more like boxers than\nbriefs before we arrived – it actually turned out that my husband was\nquestioned about his when other people were obviously wearing Bermuda style\nshorts down to their knees without any problem. Needless to say at no point\nduring our holiday did we need to go out and purchase shorts. You can\u2019t wear\nshoes around the pool areas (which is nice, keeps it clean) and places are\nuni-sex. There were lockers but no way of attaching the key – so take a band or\nsafety pin with you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beach area is unsupervised and only \u201copen\u201d with the appropriate\nflags – accept these didn\u2019t change and people went in when the flag showing it\nwas closed was up. This water is incredibly dirty – not a problem swimming in\nit but something to be aware of once you get out. Here inflatables are\nencouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course La Croix du Vieux Pont offers all the usual you would come to expect for a Sun Holiday (bars, restaurants, WiFi (additional cost), washing machines and dryers, gift shop etc). We liked that there was plenty to do but that it wasn\u2019t too noisy at night. Of course also the Eurocamp hosts speak English and so we got by with our little bit of French<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n
