Now I am forty I really am thinking about things to achieve by the time I am fifty – and a lot of that has to do with travel. We have covered close by places in Europe but now I would like to save up and look further afield. I think what I should ideally do is plan not just where to go but what to do when I get there.<\/p>\n

Planning Family trips to far off destinations<\/u><\/h2>\n

Of course the first thing I would be considering is how to keep the cost down and get the most from our money. These trips I feel are far too expensive to just waste time once we get there. I am thinking I need to break them each down into areas of how best to get there (and for the longest time possible), where I would like to visit (including both hotels which are recommended to stay in and places to explore) plus which attractions are most suitable for the children. Although my husband and children have America high up on places to visit for me I would be leaning more towards Japan and Australia.<\/p>\n

Planning a Family Trip to Japan<\/u><\/h3>\n

As a family we have all always wanted to visit Japan with it having so much to offer on many different levels. In fact our first home education session at the library was about Japan showing us that there is so much about Japan that makes it an excellent place to visit. Of course the main pull for my family is how much tech Japan has, especially gaming. Places to see include Akihabara, Nintendo’s Rural Culture Retreat, The House Mario Built and Game Store Warehouse.<\/p>\n

I think knowing things before travelling are good to a successful break – including things like buying a Japan Rail Pass if you are staying longer than a week and travelling between major cities. Places to visit include Sumo Wrestling in Tokyo, Osaka Castle, Theme Parks (Universal Studios, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea). Not forgetting that for me there would be all the beautiful flowers to see.<\/p>\n

Planning a Family Trip to Australia<\/u><\/h3>\n

I did have the opportunity to visit Australia before when my friend Julie won a trip<\/a> there but my husband really didn\u2019t want me to go without him. I think I would want to go there for a good few weeks at least, to get over the actual flight itself as well as covering everywhere we want to see\/things we would want to do. Of course a trip to Sydney would be a must – with the Sydney Harbour, Sydney Opera House, Cockatoo Island, Fort Denison and Wild Life Sydney Zoo for a start. Then maybe a trip to Tasmania visiting Freycinet National Park. Of course my boys would love the Gold Coast theme parks (Dreamworld,\u00a0Sea World,\u00a0Movie World,\u00a0Wet\u2019n\u2019Wild\u00a0and\u00a0WhiteWater World) and there\u2019s plenty of rel=”nofollow” things to do in Perth with kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Where would you recommend visiting in Japan and Australia as a family? Do you have any tips for doing so? Or is there another destination you think should be considered for my bucketlist?<\/strong><\/p>\n
