I think that it is so important for us all to start the day with a good breakfast – a message I want my children to take with them when they leave home. So when there was an opportunity to go along to Bill\u2019s to review their new and improved children\u2019s menu in all restaurants I just knew that breakfast after Saturday\u2019s Parkrun <\/a>was the ideal time. We visited the Bill\u2019s Branch at Gloucester Quays<\/a> as it is perfect to tie-in with a bit of shopping and a trip to the cinema (which we enjoyed both after our breakfast).\"Bill's<\/a><\/p>\n

Children at Bill\u2019s Restaurant<\/u><\/h3>\n

Children are well catered for at Bill\u2019s with an engaging activity pack featuring four different illustrations to colour in, varying in complexity according to age range.* During the review we were seated at a table which had plenty of space; meaning that even when all our food and drinks had arrived (including extra water for us all) the children could still carry on their colouring.\"piglet<\/a><\/p>\n

Children\u2019s Menu at Bill\u2019s Restaurant<\/u><\/h2>\n

The children\u2019s menu at Bill\u2019s is aimed at those ages 2 and over and even provide child-sized cutlery for those smaller hands. The menu is full of fresh and seasonal fare and it is sophisticated enough to make older children feel more grown up (both in the look of the menu and the options available). The special children\u2019s breakfast menu is served until midday during the week and 1pm at weekends. Not only did Bill\u2019s have a good range of dishes on the children\u2019s menu at reasonable prices but they were also willing to accommodate children\u2019s fussiness<\/span> tastes (such as omitting the blueberries).\"Children's<\/a><\/p>\n

The difference between the Bill\u2019s Breakfast on the adult (\u00a38.95) and children\u2019s (\u00a34.95) menus is that it omitted the eggs and bacon on the children\u2019s menu. As on the adult\u2019s menu there was a choice of optional extras I am sure if we had of asked this would have been the case with the children\u2019s. As it happened our ten year old opted for yoghurt with strawberries, bananas and honey (\u00a31.95) and buttermilk pancakes with strawberries, blueberries and bananas with Bill\u2019s pancake syrup (\u00a33.50). Also available was either eggs on toast (\u00a32.20), beans on toast (\u00a31.95) or a bacon or sausage sandwich (\u00a32.95).\"children's<\/a><\/p>\n

Whilst the majority of the Bill\u2019s Children\u2019s breakfast menu were vegetarian options I note that there were no vegan options at all, nor were there any for the lunch and dinner menus- which also had only one starter and one main vegetarian option. Lunches and dinners cost \u00a36.95 from the children\u2019s menu and covers 3 courses and a drink of either apple or orange juice. The children\u2019s breakfast menu does not cover children\u2019s drinks but they are able to have an apple or orange juice also.<\/p>\n

Children\u2019s Verdict:<\/strong> The boys loved their breakfasts from Bill\u2019s Children\u2019s menu:<\/p>\n

DELICIOUS<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am not sure how many times The Sensory Seeker<\/a> said delicious when giving me a quote for the review. He thought that they (the options) all looked delicious on the menu. and that it tasted really delicious and nice.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Tweenager said that even though it was a small (children’s) menu it was good that there were the options like the big (adult) one. He also agreed that it all tasted delicious.\"pancakes<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Although they were shocked to see sugar on it (icing sugar for decoration) as they have been brought up to not add sugar unnecessarily.<\/p>\n

Bill\u2019s at Gloucester Quays in General<\/u><\/h4>\n

Overall our experience at Bill\u2019s was fantastic. We noted that there is a 10% service charge added on to the bill but as we always tip at least 10% this was not a problem, and we ensured that we still tipped as we were unsure whether this would be covered under the review and want to show how appreciative we were of such great service. Everywhere was clean, nothing was too much trouble, and the staff were friendly and efficient – with food being delivered in great time and tasted amazing. I like the range of options at Bill\u2019s from the healthy juices at breakfast to a Banoffee Milkshake or something alcoholic. I think the prices were great and the servings were perfectly-sized.\"Bill's<\/a><\/p>\n

* We were only offered a choice of 2 pictures and some crayons during our visit but I am unsure if this is because we visited at breakfast time, if this has yet to be implemented or whether this is what they are referring to. Either way our children were very happy and didn’t have much time waiting to do anything else anyway. Well apart from my tweenager who wanted a brown crayon!<\/em><\/p>\n
