St Helen\u2019s Holiday Park was a lovely base to explore the Isle of Wight. For the 6 of us it only cost an extra \u00a315 on top of our \u00a39.50 Sun Holiday basic cost, for the gas and electric. We had arrived at Island View Holidays at the wrong park! The staff were very nice about it, redirected us and told us that we were most welcome to come back and use their facilities. At St Helen\u2019s they were also really friendly, and it was no trouble at all when we asked for extra bedding. They made sure we had everything we needed including information (leaflets) about what was available on the Island. The Sun holidays send a code for the ferry but we went on 2 holidays<\/a> and with a bigger car.<\/p>\n

Entertainment at St Helen\u2019s Holiday Park<\/strong><\/p>\n

There was no club which meant there was no loud music or loud people returning late to their caravans, so ideal for us with young children. There was an outdoor pool but this was not open, and a sign saying that it was not supervised. There was a games room which had a teddy machine with a prize every time \u2013 much to the delight of my youngest when he \u201cwon.\u201d It also had some other machines that needed money, including food and games.<\/p>\n

There were two play areas and one of which was immediately in front of our caravan. With the added bonus of the fact that cars are not allowed beyond the reception area it meant that we could give all of the children the freedom to play outside without us (as we could see them through the window). The children made friends with the other children and really enjoyed their time.<\/p>\n

There was also a lovely wildlife area to learn and explore on the site, as well as lots of National Trust areas a short walk away.<\/p>\n

Not far away is a beautiful beach which has rock pools and beautiful sand \u2013 we even went in the sea in April! There\u2019s also a place to hire or have instruction for watersports.<\/p>\n

The Accommodation at St Helen\u2019s holiday Park<\/strong><\/p>\n

The caravan itself was massive and very well stocked. There were two bedrooms, one double with an en suite, and one with two single beds. The other two people had to sleep on the sofas (which turned into a bed). I will say that they were really firm beds. There was plenty of storage, mirrors and plug sockets. It was all really clean when we arrived (including toilet cleaner down), and a vacuum and broom provided. There were plenty of seats with a separate dining area.<\/p>\n

Included were cups, glasses, bowls, plates, egg cups, milk sugar, glass bowls, saucepans, toaster, bread bin, cooking spoons and spatulas, cutlery, tin open, casserole dishes, measuring jug, chopping board, baking tray, colander, grater, bucket, dustpan and brush, clothes airer, tv, fridge, and the cooker has a separate grill and oven.<\/p>\n

If you want a place to stay then you cannot get cleaner and friendlier than here. There is not a lot to do on camp but if you have come to explore the Isle of Wight it is a fantastic place and very good value.<\/p>\n
